Raytheon Missile Systems has received a USD36.5 million Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract from the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to provide continued repair, maintenance, and support services for international users of the Standard Missile-1 (SM-1).
Awarded on 28 August, the five-year Full Service Support (FSS) contract combines purchases made by the governments of Bahrain, Chile, France, Italy, Japan, Poland, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey.
SM-1 was retired from the US Navy inventory in 2003 and is now in a 'sundown' phase. The FSS contract provides continued servicing and support for international users to a final 2020 out-of-service date.
Under the terms of the contract, due to complete in August 2019, Raytheon will deliver core support, depot level maintenance operations, intermediate level maintenance, technical services, spares, and demilitarisation for FMS customers.
